Berlin, 15 January 2026 - Yesterday, 14 January, MOA Berlin made history with a spectacular „MOA Unlocked“ event. Over 500 guests from the hotel industry, Berlin's networks, customers, partners and guests celebrated the transformation of the hotel into a vibrant community hub late into the night. No ribbons were cut - instead, walls were torn down to usher in a new era of Congress, Kiez & Culture.
Programme highlights with detailed times
The event started at 4.00 pm on Floor 1 in the Convention Hall with „Moabit State of Mind“ - an exhibition by local hero Julia Maier, Connect with the Heimatverein and Welcome Taste with finger food and canapés. The unforgettable live podcast „Unfiltered Talks“ followed from 17:00 in the middle of the bed: Fritz Dickamp (Studio 49) moderated honest conversations with Dr Shamsey Oloko, Lando Quiala, Philip Ibrahim (General Manager MOA Berlin), Violetta Maschewski and Paula Betke.
In the atrium on floor 2, „Raw Brass Energy“ with the Dixie Band vibrated from 18:00, followed by „Giddens & Legeny - Afrofusion meets Rap“ with dancers from 20:00 and DJ Fox from 20:00 until late. Live Cooking Stations, Flying Snacks, Live Art with Nikolas Köster and At Kiez + Style in the Barber & Beauty Lounge ran in parallel. The „Official Reset“ by the partners and managing directors marked the start of the night.
On floors 2, 3 and 4, hotel rooms opened up into interactive experiences: karaoke, DJ workshops, massages, braids, tooth gems and photo boxes - social stages everywhere without „do not disturb“. In MOA EAT on Floor 1, the „Ultimate Backstage Pass“ Kitchen Party developed in the evening with DJs Mr Lee & Dyne, DJ Alex Gallus and DJ Onit in the middle of pots and pans and chefs.
Surprises and magical vibes
One highlight was the lift wonderland with Alice in Wonderland motifs, rabbits, hat makers, show acts, a band and dancers. Workshops in the atrium and rooms became hotspots for ideas, dialogue and new connections. Beats, laughter and spontaneous conversations pulsated through the building until late into the night - an evening full of MOAments that will stay with you.
Quotes and outlook
„MOA Unlocked was more than just an opening - it was the reset for a vibrant community in the centre of the neighbourhood,“ says Philip Ibrahim, General Manager. MOA Berlin is establishing itself as an all-in-one space for events, culture and hospitality. „That was just the beginning,“ emphasises the management.
