Under the motto „More than just Green - Our Impact 2026“ we embarked on a journey that ranged from symbolic signs to hard work in the neighbourhood.A first reviewEarth Hour & BalanceOn 28 March at 8:30 pm, the lights went out at MOA Berlin. But while the atrium went dark, the balance sheet behind it was wide awake: we looked back on a year 2025 in which we as Sustainable Berlin Leader demonstrably increase our overall sustainability performance. For us, sustainability is not a project, but part of our operational DNA. Earth Day & Clean-up Day: Attitude needs glovesFor Earth Day on 22 April, we asked ourselves: What does ecological responsibility look like when it's not just certified on paper? Our team provided the answer yesterday, 27 April.Together with the organisation @BlackForest Solutions we cleaned up the neighbourhood around MOA Berlin. It was an afternoon of unembellished Berlin reality: from coarse undergrowth to a stray section of barrier, we cleared Moabit of everything that didn't belong there.But the best thing about it was the encounters. Neighbours who stopped and simply said „thank you“.
In these moments, you realise that „Congress, Kiez & Culture“ is not a claim, but a promise to our immediate surroundings. We don't just live in this neighbourhood, we take responsibility for it.A personnel turning pointThis Clean-up Day also marked an emotional milestone. We said goodbye to Mary Njeri and Peyman. Mary played a key role in shaping our sustainability baseline and establishing processes that will carry us through to our 2040 target. We would like to thank both of them for their tireless commitment to the MOA team. The outlook: From ecology to peopleOur journey does not end here. With the conclusion of the ecological focus month, we are now turning our attention to social sustainability. After all, true responsibility is only complete when it empowers people.Just in time for Mother's Day, we are dedicating ourselves to the appreciation of women and mothers in our team and our community.
