Training FAQ
Questions & Answers
Do I have to pay for the textbooks myself?
If your vocational school uses textbooks, you will initially have to pay for them yourself. Once you have passed your probationary period, half of the costs (50 per cent of the total price) will be reimbursed - provided you submit the invoice to the T&C team.
Who is my contact person during the training programme?
There is at least one trainer for each department who will support you. In addition, the T&C team supports all trainees and managers and is available as a neutral point of contact for your questions.
How much will I earn during my apprenticeship?
The fixed salary is based on the collective agreement for trainees.
2025
1st year of apprenticeship EUR 1,060.00
2nd year of apprenticeship EUR 1,210.00
3rd year of apprenticeship EUR 1,310.00
2026 (expected)
February 2026
1st year of apprenticeship EUR 1,120.00
2nd year of apprenticeship EUR 1,270.00
3rd year of apprenticeship EUR 1,370.00
August 2026
1st year of apprenticeship EUR 1,200.00
2nd year of apprenticeship EUR 1,350.00
3rd year of apprenticeship EUR 1,450.00
Is the uniform provided?
It all depends on your apprenticeship. Depending on your apprenticeship, your uniform or parts of it will be provided, such as chef's clothing.
Where will my vocational school be and do I have to enrol myself?
There are different vocational schools depending on your training occupation.
- Trainees in hotel management, restaurant & event catering and cooks attend the Brillat-Savarin vocational school at the OSZ Gastgewerbe in Berlin-Weißensee.
- Trainee event managers go to OSZ Handel 1 in Berlin-Kreuzberg.
- Office management clerks are at the Friedrich-List-Schule at the OSZ Bürowirtschaft in Berlin-Friedrichshain.
- Trainee IT specialists for system integration learn at the OSZ IMT in Berlin-Britz.
Your employer will register you for vocational school.
In which department do I start?
The start in the department depends on your training occupation and the number of trainees. You will find out which department you will be assigned to before you start your apprenticeship.
